As the founding department of the University of Dhaka, the Department of Bangla has a rich glory and heritage. Renowned scholars like M.M. Haraprasad Shastri and Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah graced the department from its inception. For over a century, our teachers and students have played a central role in the academic, cultural, and social arena of Bangladesh.

Currently, the Department offers B.A. (Honours), M.A., M.Phil, and Ph.D. programmes. We hope this website serves as a collaborative portal to disseminate our academic activities, publications, and notices, further enhancing our educational endeavors.
